Ahaspokuna Glamping Lodge for Families

Where Adventure Meets Imagination — and Luxury Meets the Wild

Glamping Sri Lanka for Families & Kids

A Modern Stone Age for the Whole Family

Imagine sitting on the deck of your private suite-tent at Ahaspokuna, your kids wide-eyed and grinning as they pretend every rustle is a dinosaur on the move. With its wide savannah-like views and immersive wilderness, this unique glamping lodge in Sri Lanka offers an experience that feels straight out of the Stone Age—minus the discomfort, of course.

Whether your children are channeling their inner Flintstones or you're simply soaking in the peace, Ahaspokuna brings generations together in a setting where imagination runs wild and nature rules supreme. And when the fantasy fades, luxury returns — with barefoot comforts, warm hospitality, and modern family amenities.

This is glamping Sri Lanka made magical for families.

A Family Adventure Resort Like No Other

Follow Ancient Trails, Build New Memories

At Ahaspokuna, every step into the wild is a step into adventure. Our guided bushwalks — led by seasoned naturalists and bushmen — follow ancient elephant trails and wind through forest paths that feel like they’ve been carved by woolly mammoths. These walking safaris are perfect for curious teens (14+), and we also offer gentler, shorter trails tailored for younger explorers.

This is more than a nature walk — it's a fully immersive learning experience. Discover historical ruins, track animal prints, listen to exotic birdcalls, and dip your toes in cool forest streams. Spotting wildlife like elephants, Sambar deer, porcupines, or owls is a thrill, though we don’t guarantee sightings — we guarantee the adventure, the excitement, and the stories you’ll bring home.

What makes it even more magical? On foot, you can feel and even smell the presence of animals nearby — something no jeep safari can offer.

If you’re looking for family adventure holidays in Sri Lanka, this is the kind of journey that brings families closer — and makes lifelong memories.

Your Private Wilderness Retreat – Family Style

Creature Comforts Meet Wild Living

While Ahaspokuna offers off-grid wilderness, you’re never far from comfort. Our spacious family suite-tents come with everything you need to feel safe, relaxed, and pampered.

Enjoy a queen-sized bed, additional beds for kids, and even a baby cot if needed. The suite opens up to a large private deck with your own Star Bed / Day Bed for stargazing and sunbathing, and a Bush Bathtub nestled in the wild — offering full privacy with a wild twist. There’s even a treehouse perched atop a mango tree for your kids to play in.

No road access means no crowds — just you, your family, and the forest.

This balance of luxury and nature is what makes Ahaspokuna one of the best places to stay in Sri Lanka for families.

More Than a Stay — It’s an Experience

Not every moment needs to be filled with trekking and trails. At Ahaspokuna, families can enjoy board games, reading corners, drawing activities, and nature-themed sketching sessions. For younger kids who opt out of bushwalks, there’s still plenty to keep them inspired and entertained.

Want a custom bonding experience? We’ll organize a special treasure hunt for your family, blending fun with outdoor adventure.

At its heart, Ahaspokuna is a family adventure resort designed for reconnection — to each other and to nature. It’s where technology takes a back seat, and discovery takes the lead.

Ready to Step Back in Time — and Into Nature?

Ahaspokuna isn’t just a glamping lodge — it’s a place where families unplug from the world and plug into something far more real: the wild. For travellers seeking family adventure holidays in Sri Lanka, this is where stories begin.

In the Sinhalese language (spoken in Sri Lanka), “Ahas” means “Sky” and “Pokuna” means “Pond” or “Pool”. Ahaspokuna is so named in reference to the lake here, high up in the hills, that is only fed by rainwater. A former settlement that sprung up on its shores was subsequently also named “Ahaspokuna”. Today, the jungle tide has washed over where people once lived and the camp provides a wilderness retreat for those in search of something different. Ahaspokuna by Eco Team
